Have you ever wanted to harness power of the sun or just have a reliable power source when you need it most? The Jackery Power Stations can do just that. The power station comes in a variety of different sizes and are simple enough to power a laptop or, with the larger sized power, most electrical appliances.

Models can include AC outlets, USB ports, and 12V car output and have the ability to be charged by a solar panel. If you are not needing all the bells and whistles and looking for an ultra-compact portable option, the Explorer 160 can power devices by DC and USB ports.

The model that we will be referring to for the rest of this review is the Explorer 500. This is one of the lightest rechargeable lithium battery generators on the market. This all-in-one portable power station includes three USB ports, AC outlet, and 12V car output. Each type of connections has an on/off button, that way you can leave items plugged in and decide which ones you want to charge first or if you want, you can charge them all at the same time, leaving it up to you on what gets charged or ran when you are away from your home or living off the grid.

No matter how prepared you are, it seems like a flashlight is always either missed placed or the batteries are dead. With the Jackery Power Station, there is a built-in led light with an alternate mode for SOS. There is also a battery management system to ensure charging safety that protects your charging devices from over-charging. This means that even in a blackout you will have a flashlight as well as charging station to keep your devices running until power can be restored.

Recharging the power station can be accomplished by AC wall Outlet, 12V car adaptor, or solar panel which is an optional and only necessary if your adventures require it. We wanted to make sure that when we are on the trails or away from civilization that we can recharge without having to use our Jeep to recharge it, so we use the SolarSaga 100w Solar Panel.

The SolarSaga not only can charge a power station but, it can also charge devices even when it is not connected to a power station. Solar charger with USB outputs: Equipped with 1* USB-C output port and 1* USB-A output port, charging multiple portable devices at the same time, including smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, etc.

The design of the SolarSaga is lightweight and includes a kickstand. Convenient to carry and use with a foldable design and magnets to keep it closed when being transported and then the angle can be slightly adjusted with the kickstand. Please keep in mind that this solar panel is not waterproof.

You never know when you or a buddy may need a little extra charge. Combing these two products will help you extend those trips just a little bit more or could be a lifesaver when the power doesn't come back on.
